Page Setting
Margins
Page margins are blank space around the edges of the page.
Using following steps we can set page margins:
- Select the Page Layout tab
- Click Margins. Now a menu of options will appear
- Now we can click predefined margin size that we want.
To use custom margins we can perform following steps:
- Select the Page Layout tab
- Click Margins. Now a menu of options will appear
- Select Custom margins...
- Now Page Setup dialog will appear
- Now using this dialog we can adjust the margin sizes for each side of the page, and then we can click Ok button to complete the task.
Orientation
Using following steps we can change page orientation:
- Select the Page Layout tab
- Click Orientation in the Page Setup group. Now a menu of options will appear
- Now we can select Portrait or Landscape orientation that we want.
Selecting size of paper
Using following steps we can select size of paper:
- Select the Page Layout tab.
- Click Size, now a drop-down menu will appear
- Now we can select desired page size according to our need.
Columns
We can use this option to splits the text into two or more columns.
Using following steps we can select columns style:
- Select the Page Layout tab.
- Click Columns, now a drop-down menu will appear
- Now we can select desired columns type according to our need.
Watermark
Watermarks are text or pictures that appear behind document text. They often identify the document status. such as marking a document as a Draft or Confidential. Using watermark we can insert predefined watermark from a gallery of watermark text, or can insert a watermark with custom text.
Using following steps we can select watermark type:
- Select the Page Layout tab.
- In the Page Background group, Click Watermark, now a drop-down menu will appear
- Now we can select desired predefined watermark text according to our choice.
- Also we can Click Custom Watermark to add custom watermark text or picture manually
We can apply different colors, texture or picture to our MS-word document using following steps:
- On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Background group click, Page Color
- Now we can click the color that we want under Theme Colors or Standard Colors
- We can also click Fill Effects to change or add special effects, such as gradients, textures or patterns.
