Inserting/Deleting cells, Rows and Columns
In MS Excel, you can insert and delete cells, rows, and columns to modify the structure of your worksheet. Here's how to do it:
Inserting cells, rows, and columns:
- Select the cells, rows, or columns adjacent to where you want to insert new cells, rows, or columns.
- Right-click on the selected cells, rows, or columns and choose "Insert" from the context menu.
- In the Insert dialog box, choose the option you want to insert (cells, rows, or columns).
- Click OK.
- To insert cells, press "Ctrl + Shift + +".
- To insert rows, right-click on the row number and choose "Insert" from the context menu, or press "Ctrl + Shift + +".
- To insert columns, right-click on the column letter and choose "Insert" from the context menu, or press "Ctrl + Shift + +".
Deleting cells, rows, and columns:
- Select the cells, rows, or columns that you want to delete.
- Right-click on the selected cells, rows, or columns and choose "Delete" from the context menu.
- In the Delete dialog box, choose the option you want to delete (cells, rows, or columns).
- Click OK.
Alternatively, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts to delete cells, rows, or columns:
- To delete cells, press "Ctrl + -".
- To delete rows, right-click on the row number and choose "Delete" from the context menu, or press "Ctrl + -".
- To delete columns, right-click on the column letter and choose "Delete" from the context menu, or press "Ctrl + -".
By inserting or deleting cells, rows, or columns, you can customize your worksheet layout and make it more organized and efficient.
