Speaker

Speaker is an output device that connects to a computer to generate sound. Computer speakers receive audio input from a computer's sound card and then produce output in the form of sound waves. Computer speakers are normally smaller in size and they contain their own amplifier.
Types of speaker

Speaker types can be divided into two categories
  • Size-wise speakers
  • Technology-wise speakers
Size-wise speaker

DRB(Dr. Bass) speakerThese types of speakers have many small speakers that can be placed around the room, such as placed on shelves or mounted on the wall. these speakers provide great sound even though they are smaller than other speakers.

Bookshelf speakers- These types of speakers are also manageable and can be placed on the shelf or stands around the room.

Floor speaker- These speakers are bigger in size and are designed to be placed on the floor. these speakers are costly than other speakers and provide better sound quality than other speakers.
Technology wise speakers

Dolby digital- These speakers operate by sending digital signals to the left, right and center speakers as well as two surround sound speakers and subwoofer.

Digital Theatre Systems (DTS)- DTS is a format that processes the signals of 5.1 channels that means there are 5 speakers and 1 subwoofer. it includes front left and right, a center two surround speakers and a subwoofer
THX (Tomlinson Holman's Experiments) surround EX- THX is a format that processes the signals of 6.1 channels that mean there are 6 speakers and one subwoofer.
