Installation of Windows N.T (New Technology)

We can install windows NT 4.0 workstation using following steps:

  • First, we need to turn on our computer and then we can insert windows NT disk into CD ROM drive
  • Now we need to follow text mode on screen instructions
  • When graphical mode begins, we need to choose an installation type then we can select custom type
  • Then we need to enter our name, organization name, computer name, password when prompted
  • Now we can go through each of the installation options and choose the components that we need. Also we can click details to see more on each category
  • Now on the network installation screen we need to select participate on network option
  • Now we need to install network adapter drivers
  • In the next step we need to ensure that we only install the protocols TCP / IP or NetBEUI Protocol that we need.
  • Now we can accept the default network services now we can complete the installation providing additional drivers and information if required
  • Once on the Windows NT 4.0 desktop we can install rest of our hardware drivers service packs updates etc.
